Oral Assessment Exam

Most of you are aware that Part 2 will be an oral assessment exam. The assessment exercises will include items that CFD captains might have to deal with in a workday. Some items will be things that CFD captains deal with frequently. Others will include items where it is of critical importance for a CFD captain to handle (critical incidents).

The oral assessment places candidates in situations that CFD captains may have to deal with. A situation is typically presented on a video screen, and candidates respond verbally to that situation. The assessment intends to measure the application of knowledge, and the skills and abilities necessary for performance in the rank of captain.

Training Plan

You should know that we are very, very familiar with this type of testing! We are also very familiar with the company giving the assessment exam. In our class, we will begin with an overview of what the part 2 assessment test is all about. We will specifically review which areas the test maker likes to test.

After candidates learn what it is, we will teach a strategy for each part 2 section. This strategy has worked very effectively for our students throughout the United States. Finally, we will practice with in-class assessment test items and score them in class. High probable assessment test areas will be reviewed in every class!
