Why is the New Jersey Police Promotional exam going to change in 2010?

The United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the multiple choice book test. In every city where the Justice Department has removed the multiple choice book test, it has always been replaced by a test similar to the Bernstein Work Sample Assessment Test (B-WSAT). The work sample type test is used in Miami, Chicago, and New Orleans, all places where Dr. Bernstein conducts training!  It was even used in New Jersey in the 1990s.  Some officers like it, some don't, but everyone has to take it.  The courts have ruled it to be a fair and valid test.
